Over the past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending one day of the Art of Cool Festival in Durham, North Carolina! This wonderful festival showcases the best in local music, including a couple of big name celebrities like Maxwell, Nas, and Erykah Badu!! The festival also provides awesome educational workshops and demonstrations for the benefit of the Durham neighborhood. I attended this festival with my boyfriend, Joe and we had a blast in the VIP tent.

I love music festivals in general for 2 reasons: 1. Music (duh) and 2. Festival Fashion!! Who am I kidding- I love going out because that gives me a reason to dress up! I am a true fashion girl so I will use any excuse to overdress haha!! My favorite music festival to date will have to be Electric Daisy Carnival in New York. I went with my girlfriend, Josephine, and we had such a good time!! We had so much fun that there are barely any pictures, videos or snap chats of that insane night. Art of Cool festival was definitely more chill as it was mostly about hip-hop music, but your girl was truly overdressed!!! Regardless, we still had an amazing time!

For the festival, I wanted to wear something relaxed and easy, so I wore this adorable strapless, tie-dye romper from Wild Honey, which I got for a steal of $26 at South Moon Under. Then, I paired it with my sheer black kimono from BCBGeneration. I was originally going to wear a denim jacket, but it’s still too warm for those serious fall layers- so I opted for the transitional kimono instead. So many trend watch reports and bloggers are talking about how kimonos are essential to fall styling this year. It allows you to layer without extra weight and it also adds a little flair to your outfit!! I finished the whole look off with my essential black hat, some fun accessories and my Vince Camuto block heels.

What do you think of this transitional fall look? I know everyone’s ready for sweater weather but I’m loving these warm weather days!! What kind of music do you like to listen to? I would love to know, so let me know in the comments below!!
