Oh, my lovelies! How I’ve missed you all! Can you believe it’s been 2 whole months?? Well, I can— because your girl has been BUSY! A new school with a new system here, a dropped class there, tons of new friends and even more events… yea— I’ve really been going through it. But trust and believe that I am so grateful for every single experience I’ve had so far, and now it’s time to come back to my baby! While it is going to be extremely difficult, I must continue to do what I am passionate about, which is writing about affordable Fashion and providing you all with great Mindfulness tips! So, I say all this to say, I will not be able to post every week as I previously did, and I will not be able to post on Mondays anymore. HOWEVER— I will post bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm EST. I am so excited to get back behind the wheel and see where this ride takes us, so buckle up and let’s get into it!

As some of you may already know, I started my first semester at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina!! -queue fanfare- This has now been the third— yes, THIRD— school that I’ve attended since graduating high school. My mom always tells me about this curse that my family and how we’re bad at finishing what we started— and believe me, this is definitely something that I struggle with. But this time though, nothing is stopping me from getting my degree! After experiencing financial troubles at my first school, then my next school closing down unexpectedly, I’ve finally found my home at Meredith College. Not only is the school beautiful, but the staff, faculty, and community are absolutely amazing. There’s even a NAP ROOM! If there’s anything you should know about me, it’s that I LOVE naps!

If you may not already know, I am 27-years old, (ack!) and yes, I am still in college. But it is important to remember that life isn’t perfect and the road to success is winding and full of wrong turns. All that matters is that you end up at the destination— it doesn’t matter how long it takes to get there!

One of the things I feared the most is making friends and creating bonds with new people. I often joke with people that I’m an old lady— which isn’t true but being older than most of the student population is a little scary. Luckily, there is this great organization at my college called WINGS and it serves the adult population of the school. Anyone over the age of 23 is considered an adult student at Meredith, and this little community gives us great information, tips on resources available, as well as free food every Monday! This organization has really made getting settled into this new college lifestyle a lot easierI even met one of my closest friends through WINGS! I am so passionate about this amazing organization that I have decided to apply to be the next WINGS president for the upcoming semester- so wish me luck!

There have been bumps in the road of course, and that is okay because everything is a learning experience! I did have to drop one of my classes because I was so completely lost. The professor was good but the content was so difficult that I could barely contribute to discussions in class! It took me days just to read one of the assignments and I still lost after getting through it. Rather than starting my first semester with a low GPA, I decided to drop the class and take a different version of it in a different semester. After talking to some other students, I determined every class is not going to work for everyone. I instead added on a history class that it so much fun, and I am so glad I made that decision! Even though the semester is only halfway over, I’ve completed some very profound and interesting projects. The one assignment that resonated with me the most was where I had to wear the same outfit for 5 days straight. I had so many contrasting feelings and emotions going through this experiment

Galentine’s Day

I mentioned before that I’ve been attending a lot of events, and one of my favorites was my Galentine’s Day celebration with all of my new friends. I organized a bunch of my friends together to meet at Vidrio in downtown Raleigh on February 13th, the official date of Galentine’s Day! So you may be asking, what is Galentine’s day?? Well, it’s just like Valentine’s Day, only you spend it with your girls! I started off the day going to class, as per usual, and then did a photo shoot with my girl, Jannely! Afterward, I went to the store to pick up some candies and treats for the goodie bags that I gave to all my girls.

The dinner at Vidrio was absolutely beautiful! We started with a delicious glass of Moscato, along with an artisan cheese board with a wonderful spread of delectable cheeses. For our entrees, we all got something different so we were able to sample each other’s meals and EVERYTHING was delicious! I had the short rib beef bolognese with some velvety lemon ricotta on top— yum! After a lively dinner full of good food and even better conversation, we sipped on Veuve Cliquot by the fire pit with a lovely dessert trio. What a beautiful night full of unforgettable memories!

… and that’s a little bit about what I’ve been up to these past 2 months! It’s been a fun ride so far and I can’t wait to see what the future brings! Thank you so much for continuing to support me during this time of transition, and stay tuned because I have so much I can’t wait to share with you all! Thank You again!
